about me

Brittany Valeriote, B.A., MHSc. (SLP) Reg. CASLPO

I’ve been a practicing speech-language pathologist in the Guelph community since 2012. Over the years, I have placed high value in providing evidence-based therapy that targets functional goals. I am very passionate about helping children master new communication skills and reach their greatest potential. Furthermore, as a mom of two, I understand the importance of involving parents and family members in each step of the therapy process as this will, in turn, create bigger and more lasting gains.

I received an undergraduate degree from Queen's University and completed my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto. I am registered with CASLPO (College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario) and am a Certified member with SAC (Speech-Language and Audiology Canada). I continue to build my knowledge and abilities by attending conferences, workshops, and webinars to ensure that I am up to date and providing effective intervention to a variety of children. Additionally, I have several focused hours of professional development in teaching children to read and spell with structured literacy intervention, as well as treating children with speech sound disorders.

I was first exposed to speech and language pathology when I attended speech therapy in grade one to work on my ‘sh’ sound. What do I remember from these sessions? Playing games, trying new things, having fun, and really looking forward to each visit. I strive for each child to have the same experience as they, too, work hard to progress in their communication and literacy goals.

Let me be the ‘solution’ for any speech, language, and literacy concern that your child is facing!!
